September 26, 2011

A Montgomery County, Texas, woman died in a mobile home fire very early on the morning of Friday, September 23. The Houston Chronicle reports that the blaze is likely linked to cigarette smoking.

The residence, located on Yancy near South Owens in Porter, Texas, caught fire around 330 a.m. and was put out about a half hour later, say Montgomery County fire officials.

The 40-year-old victim apparently fell asleep while smoking on a couch. The woman’s 10-year-old son woke up and tried to help his mother escape but was unsuccessful. Unharmed in the fire, the boy ran to a neighbor’s home for help.

Neighbor Kristen Delvert told KTRK that she “came running out and I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ It was just flames, like, our windows were orange. That’s all we could see was flames.”

KTRK reports that a wheelchair was found in the victim’s home, and officials believe that she may have been unable to escape the fire because of a pre-existing medical condition.

The boy’s father, a long-haul truck driver, was away from the home at the time of the fire.

A fire can be devastating for anyone, but fatal fires add another layer of grief and difficulty for families of fire victims.

Unfortunately, loved ones are grieving after a Texas fire left two dead, with one of the victims’ vehicles missing, according to the Houston Chronicle.

The Texas fire occurred at a Dallas apartment, and the Texas fire victims, though their identities have not been released, are thought to have been 59 and 61 years old.

Have the Texas wildfires affected your family? Some residents may have been affected by the blazes through damage to property or evacuations from their neighborhoods, but perhaps those most affected are the firefighters battling the Texas fires daily.

According to the Houston Chronicle, a fire has caused Texas burn injuries for a firefighter.

Authorities say the firefighter has suffered Texas burn injuries, including some third-degree burns, and he is in critical condition.

April 8, 2011

Fire and burn injuries are often the result of an accidental fire; however, sometimes a burn can occur when one person attacks another with a heated object.

Unfortunately, that is what happened at a Texas bar when a woman who claimed other women was assaulting her tried to stop the assault by causing a Texas burn injury, according to KHOU.

The woman who said she was assaulted by three women at a bar said she had to poke one of the women in the eye with a cigarette, causing a Texas burn injury, to stop the beating.

The woman who caused another woman to suffer a Texas burn injury was arrested because, according to officers at the scene, she was too inebriated to participate in a field sobriety test.

Working at sea can be hazardous, whether commercial fishing, or doing work on an oil rig. Dangers such as the risk of drowning, fire, and storms are persistent for workers on the water. Do you worry about your safety at work?

According to the Houston Chronicle, two workers have died following Texas burn injuries and Texas maritime personal injuries at a dry dock.

The fatal Texas burn injuries and Texas maritime personal injuries occurred when one of the workers was working on a cargo vessel that was docked on the barge, and the other Texas burn injury victim went inside to get the worker.

Both workers died in the Texas that could lead to a Texas maritime personal injury case.

A house fire, no matter how small, can be a traumatic situation for residents in the home and those who live around it. However, the effects of such a tragedy can double if someone is injured.

According to the Houston Chronicle, one person was injured in a Houston fire at an apartment complex on Burgoyne near Nantucket. The Houston fire and burn injury victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries, though his condition is unknown.

The Houston fire is still under investigation.

March 3, 2011

When parents pay for daycare services, the safety of their children is likely their utmost priority. However, even the best daycare facility can have accidents.

According to the Houston Chronicle, a Houston fire at a home day care facility left three toddlers dead and four others with Houston fire and burn injuries.

The Houston fire started in the kitchen of a daycare facility operated by a 22-year-old woman. The woman had gone shopping and returned close to the time of the Houston fire, but it is unclear whether the children were left in the care of another adult.

The Houston fire is still under investigation at this time. However, the woman’s brother says she was at the home when the Houston fire occurred.

January 13, 2011

Fires can occur and spread very quickly and unexpectedly. Unfortunately, this can happen when we are also least prepared to escape: while we are sleeping.

According to the Houston Chronicle, one man has died as the result of Houston fire and burn injuries after a Saturday morning fire.

The blaze occurred on Lamina Street at a home and was reported by a neighbor who is a retired firefighter. The 62-year-old Houston fire victim was found on the floor of the kitchen and taken to a hospital where he later died.

The cause of the Houston fire has not yet been determine,d though investigators do know it started in a spare bedroom of the home.

December 30, 2010

When a fire destroys 900 acres of land, we may expect Texas fire and burn injuries among the damaged property. However, Texans were fortunate to escape Texas fire and burn injuries from a destructive wildfire that broke out Monday.

According to the Houston Chronicle, a wildfire that took firefighters 3 hours to control threatened two homes but did not damage them, and no one suffered Texas fire or burn injuries.

Authorities say the wind aided the Texas fire in spreading quickly across pastures.

October 28, 2010

Our homes can be fraught with fire hazards; unfortunately, one of those fire hazards can be one of the utilities we use daily.

That may be the case in a Houston fire that killed an elderly woman, according to the Houston Chronicle.

The Houston fire occurred on Shawnee and is believed to have been caused by a gas problem. Oxygen tanks inside the home escalated the Houston fire.
