After drugs have been on the market for a long time, consumers assume they are safe. However, a 50-year-old drug is being recalled by its manufacturer.
According to the Houston Chronicle, Darvon and Darvocet, drugs that are more than 50 years old, are being recalled due to their potential for Houston drug injuries including unsafe heart rhythms.
Darvon and Darvocet, which have been used to treat pain, are being pulled off the market by Xanodyne after a recommendation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Europe banned the drugs already, but the U.S. now finds them unsafe due to the potentially fatal Houston drug injuries they could cause.
Have you ever suffered from Houston drug injuries?
