According to the Galveston Daily News, one man has died as the result of an accident that could lead to a Texas worker’s compensation case for three workers.
The accident occurred when steel beams fell at Santa Fe High School on Highway 6 where the men, ages 21, 26, and 44, were working at the time of the accident. The 21-year-old died after a 50-foot fall from a steel beam that he was tied to, which was also tied to another steel beam. A crane was used to lift one of the beams that had fallen on top of the man.
The other two workers suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the construction accident that could lead to a Texas worker’s compensation case.
The construction accident is being investigated by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration.
